I wholeheartedly agree! Delight is the word and when your posts pop in to my in box Kristin I always learn something new and leave with a smile on my face and a new appreciation of nature and its seasons. Not that I lack appreciation but you tie it all together so well. Thank you.
Oh my heart! Thank you so much Catherine...that's more than I could ask for. I often felt a bit like an odd duck meandering through all these themes, but I've come to realize how "at-home" I really am when finding kindred spirits like you.
Jody, aren't you always just the most supportive and delightful?! I love that line about crabbed Lent, too. Thank you my friend...and I'm ever so grateful to have you as a paid subscriber, and to have the privilege of being a paid subscriber of yours, too.
Making me want to read Gawain! My husband read a new translation a few years back and it seemed a little esoteric to my taste but this is so beautiful thanks Kristin! Have a blessed Lent 💜
I studied Gawain at University 30 plus years ago and that translation is really lovely. As we are heading into shortening days here in Australia, although it is still very hot, reading that excerpt and then having your calendar to colour is a gentle addition to my Lenten practices. I am in a group who meet each week, have a piece of art in line with the theme (which is Pieta this year) to look at, reflect upon and then some scripture and reflections written by a panel of people. It is a Catholic perspective. During the week we have a shorter daily practice. I enjoy it a lot.
Oh my...your group sounds like such a lovely and fruitful gathering, and how utterly perfect to be meditating on the Pieta. Thanks, as always, for your kind words...I hope you enjoy this little calendar!
Kristin, this is a delight....especially the first lines about 'crabbed Lent' from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
I'm so grateful to be a paid subscriber....this offering is beautiful!

🌸💗 no odd ducks here! We are kindred spirits, enlarging each others hearts through books, art, nature and liturgy. Keep smiling and keep being you.

This is so lovely! Is there anyway to purchase a copy of this calendar without being a subscriber?
Thanks so much, Laura! It sounds like a few folks were thinking the same thing! I just popped it into my shop:)
