All this wonderful info and the cakes! You're making me very hungry. Our grape vines are a disaster but I love the way you captured yours -- the light and their colors are so pretty.
Yes, one year we were able to juice them and it was the most delicious drink ever. The next year nothing, but we planted them in a bad area and neglect them terribly. Maybe one year ....
This was a joy to read, Kristin! Your rose (pictured) looks very much like my Benjamin's David Austin 'Lady of Shalott' rose -- I made a wet potpourri using its petals last summer. I love the idea of rosewater icing.♡
I knew it -- she's a beauty (oh, and smells SO good)! BTW...have you received any of my recent posts (I'm trying to muddle through why my stats report a number of my subscribers do not receive e-mail? I'm still so very new to this platform, it baffles me.😊)
I was JUST texting Sally @sereid about this the other day - I realized I haven't been getting any emailed updates! I'm also new and baffled, haha. It seems to be a settings issue - I've inadvertently had "Smart Notifications" selected. I have a lot of posts to catch up on!!
This is so lovely! And the rose cakes look delicious (it's sort-of what I was just talking about in my recent Marco Polo!). I really like all the quotes you've included. Your swallow painting and that poem at the beginning are especially beautiful. Thank you!
This is lovely. I'm sorry I didn't see your post before the day. I'll put it into my novel, though :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed reading! Grapes are always so hit and miss, aren't they?! It's a real treat when they cooperate.

Thank you, Jessica - I'm so glad you enjoyed reading! And oh my goodness - that is indeed the Lady of Shalott!! Good spot! She's my favorite rose.

Beautiful
Thanks Samantha!
You’re so welcome, Kristin!
I love the weaving of tradition, song, daily life, and poetry in all these entries--and the feast! Blessed Marymas to you!
Oh my, thank you so much, Annemarie! That makes my day to hear. Blessed Marymas to you, too!
Those cakes sound delicious!
They turned out so yummy! I'm usually not super fond of floral flavors, but this was delicate enough that I really enjoyed it. 🌹

Hah, I did see it earlier, but my brain hasn't been working, obviously!
